Political History & Views What is your political history or relevant experience? I have no direct political history but have regularly liaised with Departments of Government in the running of our farm business and in my capacity as a member of the Executive Committee of the Fatstock Marketing society and the IOM Agricultural Marketing Society. Are you a member of any organisation which guides or influences your political views or polices? Not a member of any political organisation but I am a member of the Manx NFU the Manx Beef Producers Group and the above named societies all of which are interlinked with my family's day to day business of running a large agricultural enterprise. What are your main national issues? My main national issues are:-the MEA(of course)the IRIS scheme and the High cost of Governmental projects overall I also feel strongly about the bureaucracy which is experienced by all small businesses in the Island and the plethora of inspections , certifications and general red tape which must be complied with.Immigration is a contentious issue which also should bear scrutiny. What are your main local issues? The traffic problem in Ballasalla , the proposed new housing at Crossag farm and its implications on the local infrastructure. The lack of choice in leisure activities both in Malew and Santon. What do you believe you would bring to government as an MHK? An enthusiasm for the improvement of an already thriving economy whose resources are not always utilised wisely. and value for moneyThe examination of Governmental spending is vital and also productivity per capita of the higher paid civil servants.
