News & Press ReleasesNew MHK for West Douglas - Delaney to retire
West Douglas will have a new MHK in the General Election. Dominic Delaney has announced he is not to contest the seat in November, mainly for health reasons. Mr Delaney joined politics in 1972 as a member of Douglas Town Council, but from 1976 to 1995 was the MHK for East Douglas before being elevated to the Legislative Council. Members voted him out and Alex Downie in, meaning there was a bye election in West Douglas in which Mr Delaney was elected back to the Keys. Energy FM News
