News & Press ReleasesPAG issues charter
The Positive Action Group has set out what changes it hopes to see to our system of Government, starting immediately after the General Election in November. They consist initially of 3 core principles, namely open and accountable government, rigorous control of public finances and a fairer society for all. The group has also produced a booklet containing information about the current structure of Government and details of how much members of Tynwald are paid. The PAG's charter calls for six steps to be taken in order that the core principles can be implemented, including giving the public the right to elect members of the Legislative Council and reducing the number of Ministries and departmental members. The group was established earlier this year by several individuals who are disillusioned with the present Government. It's membership has grown substantially since the launch. Energy FM News
