It's up to individuals to make sure they get registered to vote in November's election.

That's the message from the electoral registration unit in response to a claim from a politician that over twelve hundred voters have disappeared from his constituency.

David Cretney, who's defending his south Douglas seat, says the number of people on the new list of voters issued to candidates is down by 25 per cent.

But the registration unit says forms are still being returned and a further updated list will be published in the first week of October.
