News & Press ReleasesKeys candidates to face student questioning
General Election candidates standing in the Douglas area face a grilling from high school students this morning at an "Any Questions" forum. 10 potential MHK's have agreed to take part in the event at Ballakermeen, aimed at allowing 16 and 17 year olds, who have recently been granted voting rights,a chance to work out who they will support on November 23rd. Only around 700 of a possible 2,000 or so 16 and 17 year olds have actually registered to vote, but Ballakermeen Head Teacher Adrienne Burnett says today's event is a unique opportunity for those who are interested in politics.
