News & Press ReleasesMixed turnouts at polling stations
Voting is now well and truly underway in the House of Keys General Election. Reports are coming in of excellent turnouts at a number of polling stations, notably Onchan and South and North Douglas. However,at present only around 30 percent of those eligible to vote in Malew and Santon have so far. It seems 16 and 17 year olds in Castletown are taking advantage of a new right to choose their political representative - it's reported a significant number have voted in the Southern constituency already today. At least 3 of the 23 seats available will definitely see change, with sitting members in West Douglas ,Onchan and South Douglas choosing not to seek re-election. 54 hopefuls are standing in 14 constituencies - only Ayre is uncontested, with Eddie Teare returned unopposed. Polling stations will remain open until 8pm and Energy FM will bring you all the results as they come in throughout the night. Energy FM News News Feed
