Election candidate court case adjourned
Wed, 28 Sep 2011
A election candidate accused of making a false statement on his nomination paper has appeared in court.
Nigel Dobson who's standing in Garff made an appearance before magistrates this morning.
The case was adjourned for two weeks and no plea was entered.
Mr Dobson is a Liberal Vannin candidate.
The party has issued a brief statement.
It says it feels it should rely on the Isle of Man justice system for its judgment and process of law, which it will respect whatever the outcome.
Mr Dobson is still standing in tomorrow's election.
He's up against Steve Rodan.
Liberal Vannin says it "doesn't wish to deny the voters in the constituency of Garff the opportunity for voting for Liberal Vannin."
